
Biography
Dr. José Zariffa obtained his Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering from McGill University, followed by his Masters and PhD from the University of Toronto in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering. He then completed post-doctoral fellowships at the International Collaboration On Repair Discoveries (ICORD) in Vancouver, Canada, and at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. Currently, he is a Scientist at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto in IBBME. He is a recipient of an Ontario Early Researcher Award.
Research Interests
Dr. Zariffa’s research interests are in neuroprosthetics and technology for upper limb neurorehabilitation. Current projects encompass work in peripheral nerve interfaces, wearable sensors, rehabilitation robotics, and electrophysiology.
